Zombie Tater On the Town

The Zombie Tater went out on the town. Someone I am married to named Doug took pictures. Here they are: Zombie Tater goes to run an errand. La Familia Gallery will probably never be the same. I skeerded them good while picking up a painting that I purchased on their Facebook benefit to send their artists to somewhere or other. I got a piece by Brad Strain. It is awesome. Zombie Potato loves it. Although it was a bit difficult to communicate that I was in the gallery to pick up my winnings. I think people were distracted by the fact that I was dressed up like a Zombie Potato. Tater Zombie plays bridge at The Reeders (one of whom is pregnant with twins). I took a risk with this one because they have one very, very large dog and one very, very neurotic dog. The odds were that they would eat me. They did not. But only because they are well trained. Tater Zombie hangs out in Belltown. Yes, I own a condo in Belltown. I'm a douche. I totally get that. In my defense though, I hate Belltown and all of its roaming, screaming, drunk Halter Tops. Most people in Belltown thought I was either an STD or a vagina with teeth. Douches. Loud douches. My Tater Zombie costume did need one adjustment. Doug made me a drinkin' hole that I could fit a staw through so I could get wasted on Gin & Tonics while I was wearing a big sack that impared my vision. It was smart. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... best costume ever. Zombie Potato. I highly recommend.

Balderdash Makes Me Happy

Ah, Balderdash. My love. My Balderdash.
I really LOVE playing Balderdash. So much that I whenever I play a game, I bring home all the little slips of paper and blog our answers. And you get to play too. Just leave your answer as a comment on this blog and I'll pick the funniest one. Whoever is funniest gets a fun surprise in the mail from me.
First things first -- the winner from my last Balderdash blog entry, Betsy -  who killed me with her synopsis of the movie, "Hello Down There":
The Story of forbidden love between a fuzzy Norwegian hat and the woman who wears it. Spoiler Alert: The hat dies in the end.
I don't know what it means -- but I know it's funny. And that's all that matters. So Betsy will be getting some cool farting tater tot greeting cards in the mail post haste.
And now this week's contest
It's a MOVIE and the title is "Ladies Who Do." Our answers:
1. A small town gets turned upside down when the local hair salon wins a hair styling contest.
2. Ladies clean up the entire world using only garbage bags and gum.
3. A documentary about women entering the work force during World War II.
4. A group of women start a do wop group in the 1920's and make it to #1 on the charts.
5. A bunch of office cleaning women get rich when they find some hot stock tips in a garbage can.
6. The much more popular sequel to the first film, "Ladies who don't."
7. A small group of women in rural Georgia form an association to rebel against society's "A lady doesn't..." attitude in the 1950's.
8. The sequel to "Ladies who don't" followed by the third installment "Ladies who don't do diddly squat."
Now it's your turn. Write a brief but hilarious movie synopsis of "Ladies Who Do" and leave it as a comment on this blog. I'll get in touch if you're the winner!
And if you don't want to play, just enjoy this new Shower Art: My Other Car is a Unicorn on Roller Skates.

Some Artists and Stuff

These three bARTer Sauce participants have art shows that I should have told you about a long, long time ago.

Staci is showing at Revolution Coffee until April 28th. Check out her website: http://www.stacirgraveley.com/. We all missed her opening reception, but that's the kind of thing that happens when you have to adhere to the limits of linear time. Staci knows we were all there in spirit. Mark sent me a postcard about his show at Penn Cove Pottery (26184 SR20 Coupevile, WA). The gallery is open Monday - Saturday from 10am-5:30pm and the show runs through May 19th. Check it out!

Stacy (a.k.a. Dangerine) emailed me about a show but I'm not sure if it's still going on. You tell me. After you go there to check. Cafe Shachor by Beth's Cafe at the corner of Linden & Winona & 74th. Her paintings are there. Hells Yeah! And for the rest of you. If you've traded with bARTer Sauce and have something cool coming up or if you've done something noteworthy, send me an email or post a comment here and I'll help you get the word out. And in closing, some Shower Art for you to enjoy.

First Thursday Art Walk

It was our first First Thursday Artwalk in the new studio. I'm studio-sharing with the coolest woman ever: www.kimberlyatstir.etsy.com. Doug and I set up a pretty kick-ass Shower Art display for the artwalk and crossed our fingers. Feedback was really positive and while we only sold one item: a starfish to a child who just kept holding it up and saying, "oooohhhhh" we did come home to a $76 Etsy order. That's awesome!

To kick off the night, I invited some of the EtsyRain folks (our Seattle Street Team) over to have some wine and get silly talking about forums and making fun of Carrie complainging about how she "can't keep up with her orders." Ahhhhh, to have that problem! She has the cutest baby ever. I'm probably biased though: he's the baby who demanded that she buy him a Shower Art. HA! I love that kid.

We walked around a bit, visited Kimberly at Stir, went to Occidental park...and then it was all over. Time flew by much faster than I had expected. Next month I'm going to start out much earlier. Thanks to everyone who stopped by. You're such a fun group and I genuinely enjoy your company. Let's do it again soon!

To close, here's some pictures of the most recent batch of Shower Art. We're making them out of rubber now instead of resin so they're squishy and nice and won't make quite such a loud noise if they fall off your shower wall.
